not broken

December 17, 2012

The past ten months have been very rough. The past few weeks have been increasingly intense from numerous angles. I needed the verses below, and plan to read and reread them so they can soak into my wounded soul. I encourage you to do the same.

“We’ve been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we’re not demoralized; we’re not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we’ve been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn’t left our side; we’ve been thrown down, but we haven’t broken….what Jesus did among them, He does in us–He lives!…So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without His unfolding grace.” 2 Cor. 4:8-10, 16, The Message

“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope.  With less of you there is more of God and His rule.” Matthew 5:3, The Message
