anxious

June 20, 2013

The last several days have been very rough for me. I have repeatedly caught myself clenching my teeth, and carrying tension in my shoulders. Today Philippians 4:6 jumped out for me. “Don’t be anxious about things; instead, pray. Pray about everything. He longs to hear your requests, so talk to God about your needs and be thankful for what has come.” With a smile on m face my initial reaction is to say, “Thank you, Father, for writing that verse just for me.” In reality, I know it’s not just for me, but all of us. So I’ve spent time with Him before I wrote this blog doing just what it says – talking to Him about all these concerns. The cool part is that the next verse carries a promise for us if we do that. “And know that the peace of God (a peace that is beyond any and all of our human understanding) will stand watch over your hearts and minds in Jesus, the Anointed One.”

Note: both verses quoted from The Voice (found on biblegateway.com)
