shape your worries into prayers

October 10, 2013

Phil 4:6-7, Amplified

“6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

7 And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7, The Message (MSG)

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”

If you have to have it a certain way or at a specific time, you can’t release it.

Quit trying to figure things out.   He knows what’s best.  It’s impossible to worry and be at peace at the same time.

Instead say, “God, I see a solution as this certain way, but I release the situation to You.  I choose to trust that You have a better answer than I could ever figure out.    You’ve always amazed me in the past.  You’re no different now.  🙂  Thank You for taking charge of this because I can’t fix it.  I don’t want to try to fix it any more.  It’s too heavy of a load for me to carry.  You take it.  You never intended for me to try to carry anything this heavy.  I’ve lost my peace so I know I’ve gotten into wrong territory of either worry or trying to control this.  I repent.  It’s Yours.”
