my true Hope

October 28, 2013

Today I finally have an appointment with a specialist to hear a possible diagnosis for the strange, seemingly disconnected symptoms I’ve been experiencing. The possibilities have not sounded good so far. Yet God has brought songs on the radio plus Scriptures that have encouraged me and given me hope. They help me take my focus off what could be scary and put my eyes on the One Who is my true Hope. Today it is Psalm 62:2 in three versions. I wanted to share them with you, too. Since I know His Word always accomplishes His work in us, I know it will do what He wants it to do in you as well. May our God blanket us with His peace as we rest in Him today.

Living Bible (TLB)
2 Yes, he alone is my Rock, my rescuer, defense and fortress. Why then should I be tense with fear when troubles come?

The Message (MSG)
62 1-2 God, the one and only—
I’ll wait as long as he says.
Everything I need comes from him,
so why not?
He’s solid rock under my feet,
breathing room for my soul,
An impregnable castle:
I’m set for life.

New Century Version (NCV)
2 He is my rock and my salvation.
He is my defender;
I will not be defeated.
