Psalm 9:9

December 2, 2013

Psalm 9:9
NIRV – The LORD is a place of safety for those who have been beaten down. He keeps them safe in times of trouble.
AMP – The Lord also will be a refuge and a high tower for the oppressed (EXB adds “exploited”, YLT says “bruised”), a refuge and a stronghold in times of trouble (high cost, destitution, and desperation).
ERV – Many people are suffering— crushed by the weight of their troubles. But the LORD is a refuge for them, a safe place they can run to.
MSG (vs 9-10) – GOD’s a safe-house for the battered, a sanctuary during bad times. The moment you arrive, you relax; you’re never sorry you knocked.
NCV – The LORD defends those who suffer; he defends them in times of trouble.
