True or False

January 3, 2016

People can say what they want, but it doesn’t make it true.

Nehemiah 4:1-2 NCV “When Sanballat heard we were rebuilding the wall, he was very angry, even furious. He made fun of the Jewish people. He said to his friends and those with power in Samaria, ‘What are these weak Jews doing? Will they rebuild the wall? Will they offer sacrifices? Can they finish it in one day? Can they bring stones back to life from piles of trash and ashes?'”

Bullies will mock because they have been mocked.  Friends will encourage because they know how to stand by your side no matter what.

The main thing is that lies are lies.  What comes out of someone’s mouth doesn’t mean it’s true.  Their words can sting.  They can hurt.  But it doesn’t mean what they said is the truth.  Don’t take it internally.  Take it to God and let His light shine on it.  Own what is  your part.  Ask forgiveness for your part.  Receive that forgiveness.  If the person chooses not to forgive you, understand that’s where they are right now.  Move on.  forgive yourself.  Move forward.  don’t get stuck in the disapproval of someone else.  Move beyond the hurt.
