Pray First

January 10, 2016

“Trying to live out your purpose without prayer is like trying to rub two sticks together to survive.  It’s hard and exhausting.  It takes a lot of effort to get anything done when you’re left with your finite strength and resources.  Prayer is what moves us out of the realm of the finite into the realm of the infinite.  Human effort is a poor substitute for divine strength.  Prayer is the difference between what you can do and what God can do.  So, why not just admit that you are lost in the wilderness of your circumstances?  Why not acknowledge your massive limitations by turning to the One who is limitless?  Why don’t you put down your “two sticks” and take a new approach?  This time: PRAY FIRST.” – taken from Pastor Doug Reed
