Religions are about rule-keeping. That is easier than to do relationships. Don’t try to replace how you treat others with a rule, tradition, or use as an excuse to mistreat people. Jesus isn’t fond of people treating others wrong that He died for.
“God has chosen you and made you his holy people. He loves you. So you should always clothe yourselves with mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” – Colossians 3:12, New Century Version.
Love with all your heart. Clothe yourself with:
• Compassion and kindness, which means to loan your strength to someone
• Humility, which means to view yourself accurately
• Gentleness which is a decision to respond at your level of ability, or to gear down to the level of the other person
• Patience, which means to go at their speed
• Kindness, verse 13, be known for extending kindness, the same kindness God has shown you
My relationships are more important than you knowing my full level of intelligence or ability.
We need to have grace bleed out of us.
